Emerald Airlines selects MOST to support inflight retailing capabilities and onboard payments
  • MOST solution deployment marks the launch of inflight retailing activities for Emerald Airlines operated flights
  • Fleet-wide deployment of the solution has taken place across the airline’s fleet of ATR72-600
  • MOST technology allows crew members to quickly and easily accept secure payments from passengers

March 29, 2022 – Dublin, IE: Emerald Airlines, Ireland’s newest airline and exclusive operator of the Aer Lingus Regional network has selected MOST, makers of technology for a world on the move, to provide and deploy the airline’s first-ever inflight retail and onboard payments solutions. MOST has deployed its software solution and payment peripheral hardware fleet-wide across Emerald's fleet of ATR72-600. Working with MOST technologies allows crew members to quickly and easily accept secure payments from passengers on board aircraft and the partnership has assisted in opening a new ancillary revenue stream for Emerald Airlines.

Emerald Airlines is now offering passengers a seamless buy-on-board retail program, managed entirely in-house by the airline itself and supported by MOST technology. The onboard product selection now has a much broader range of drinks and snacks available inflight than ever before. By allowing passengers to make payments using chip/pin, NFC and e-wallets during flights, MOST's cutting-edge technologies are giving Emerald’s passengers a more convenient and streamlined shopping experience onboard.

As part of the agreement, MOST provides payment hardware that connects to Emerald's existing crew iPads. The crew devices also run the most.Retail software platform. This means cabin crew can efficiently manage Emerald Airlines' first-ever buy-on-board program by processing fast transactions, monitoring inventory and delivering electronic receipts.

"MOST is excited to partner with Emerald Airlines and enable the airline to launch and manage their own inflight retail program. We are thrilled to introduce fast payment for passengers and also support Emerald in building from scratch what will be the best inflight offering for commuters and leisure travellers on short flights,” said MOST CEO Jan Blanchard.

"We have been working with MOST for the past number of months to build a seamless and bespoke buy-on-board offering for passengers travelling with Emerald Airlines. MOST’s payment technology solutions will be instrumental in providing our passengers with an efficient inflight shopping experience, managed entirely in-house by our team.” said Ciarán Smith, Head of Commercial at Emerald Airlines.
